Why a business focused on family caregivers?

After twenty years in the field of elder care, Anne Togher knew that there had to be a better way to support family caregivers. In her work both as a service provider and as a volunteer facilitator of a family caregiver support group, she observed that caregivers became so consumed in their role that they frequently stopped paying attention to their own needs. She saw case after case that validated what national studies state—family caregivers put their health at great risk, often to the point where they are no longer able to provide the care they commit to. However, Anne also observed a few caregivers who seemed to handle their role differently. Those who were able to see their role as a gift, an opportunity, were better able to find success in their roles. She decided that a business focused on caregivers and their health would enable more caregivers to find their way to the shift in perception that would allow them to experience success.
